Thanks a bunch.

I actually spent about 3 hours there:

Part of the high number of frames was because I was bracketing almost
every shot. For one, I'm not good enough at night photography nor at
translating what the histogram means about the raw file, to nail my
exposure in weird lighting situations. Also, I may want to go back and
process these shots with HDR, as the range of exposures is pretty
extreme. So, with the test shots to set my exposure, and the
bracketing, it's really less than 100 shots.

Maybe, one of these day, I'll be good enough to show up someplace like
this and only take the 10 good frames that are now in the set. But,
even if I could, I won't, because if I only take pictures that work,
that means that I'm not trying enough new things nor taking big enough
risks.

I just need to get better at recognizing when my experiments aren't as
successful as I had hoped.

I had a bit of help with that. Besides, these days, it's not quite red
that I'm painting towns. Being a Texan, I'm sure that you're familiar
with Robert Earl Keen:

The first step is learning to take great photos,
the second step is learning to throw away ones that are merely good.
