I'd probably have taken this subject in a portrait orientation, eliminating
some of the extraneous background and with the sun at my back.

Some may remember these old pumps that were just left beside the road when
the service station that they were part of was abandoned. I did quite a
few shots of them on several different occasions. After a couple of years
this particular image, that I didn't bother to convert from the raw file
has grown on me.
