Manual Lens on DS

I wanted to try my Manual 85 MM on the DS.  I cannot figure out how to 
set up the camera to get the exposure.  Is there any way to use the 
internal meter to read the correct exposure or do I only have the 
completely manual mode using an external meter to deterine the correct 
exposure?
