Ken and Bob, thanks for your comments. I really appreciate the suggestions.
Ken, the wall to the right of the photo is lit by fluorescents facing downward, and so the pavement in front of the bike was completely blown out. Decreasing the exposure enough to have any detail in front of the bike made the noise unacceptable in back of the bike (ISO 1600 on a K10D). So, I was kinda stuck... Bob, I brightened the wall by 2/3 of a stop; more than that made the noise really ugly. The brightened version is here: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=10807460 Cheers, Rick http://photo.net/photos/RickW --- On Sun, 3/14/10, Ken Waller <kwal...@peoplepc.com> wrote: > From: Ken Waller <kwal...@peoplepc.com> > Subject: Re: PESO - Waiting > To: "Pentax-Discuss Mail List" <pdml@pdml.net> > Date: Sunday, March 14, 2010, 5:14 PM > In general, I like this but I'd be > more decisive with a crop to either include all of the > bike's wheel on the RH side & more of the bike rack on > the LH side or cut both off more - as posted these > items make the image look like a quick grab when it could be > seen as soo much more. > > Kenneth Waller > http://www.tinyurl.com/272u2f > > ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Womer" <rwomer1...@yahoo.com> > Subject: PESO - Waiting > > > > Wednesday I took my camera to work, and did some > shooting on the way to and from (about a mile's walk in each > direction).
