A crocus followed hard on the heels of the first snowdrop. But this one is an aberration. It pops up every year on the east side of my neighbor's house. It's in a microclimate area, and I suspect the bulb isn't very deep. Probably dropped in a pile of leaves by a squirrel. Anyway, it's the only crocus blooming in the area, and that's my theory.
