Rules of thumb for white wading birds:
1. Big yellow beak and all black legs (on a big bird) = Great Egret
2. Thin black beak, black legs and yellow feet = Snowy Egret
3. Short bird with short yellow beak and blackish legs = Cattle Egret

Good thing he didnt shoot a yellow legs :-)
I'm late again, really thought he knew it was an egret and was being cute with the title... I like the first of the three the best, I think Bruce.. all very nice and difficult to get .

Last image ESPECIALLY nice, Bruce. I imagine someone has "officially" ID'd it as a Lesser Snowy Egret.(?) Have shot many of them and have found it a tough exposure. These speak well of your exposure choice &/or post processing.

Same walk with the kids - it was a
particularly nice area we were in.
The white bird is probably an Egret - most likely some
knowledgeable
list member will help us with the exact bird.
