I picked up that Tamron 300/2.8 from my friend Chuck today.
It turns out he bought it from some guy named John Francis.

The lens has a knob on it to keep the lens from rotating in the tripod mount collar. One of the screws holding that knob on is broken, so the lens can't be locked down from rotating. If I could get the collar off, it would be trivial to replace that screw.

Is there anyplace in the bay area that people would recommend for doing that job? I know one camera repair place on Bascom in San Jose. While I'm at it, would it be worth investing in a CLA of the lens?
