Great stuff Ann!
I remember having lunch at Fields. Good memories.
I also remember Jim's Polish Sausage stand when it was on the corner
of Halsted and Maxwell. It was literally just a stand then, rather
than a store front. As teenagers we used to take the Halsted bus up
north to Maxwell Street after school, and Jim's was always the first
stop. I was standing on that corner eating one of his Polish sausages
when I heard that Kennedy had been shot in Dallas.

Thanks, Paul!
Wow -- some story ... I never went there -- Maxwell and Halsted was a
totally forbidden area for me from my parents point of view.
The Walnut room, food wise, isn't _quite_ as good as on my last visit -
but I spent less there than we each spent for pizza at the group
shindig on Saturday evening. I mention this because it looks so posh.
Sorry you weren't there to have chicken pot pie with me.
I may put up a few more shot, just of info kind of . I took the shot of
Jims from the bus windowh got lucky with slow traffic and good angle..
I think I was standing by the side door of the lower level of the bus
where the glass wasn't tinted.
I so wish I'd had more time to spend there.

Nice, Ann! One of the more enjoyable sets. In my nature mode,

And getting there and comping back...
I'm better at editing after waiting a year but these kinda
tell the story - although on longer reflection I'm sure I'll
dump some of these and
replace with others..
Have to get back to retrieving funds now I'm home. IT
always costs more than you think it is going to to go away
but , boy, am I glad I did.
Adding to the cheers of the crowd for the "perps" of the
splendid event at Dankhaus -- rah rah Mark, Christine,
Sue, Doug et al...!
