Just fixing a sticky mirror is one thing. CLA on an LX is another. I would expect that if the infamous sticky mirror problem exists, than it's time for other things as well. There are seals on the LX that don't last forever. By the time sticky mirror shows up, it may be prudent to have these replaced as well. This is no small job and the seals are not free. Further, just checking (let alone adjusting) all the things that need checking on an LX is somewhat time consuming. I can't imagine that $40 can buy more than an hour's work and probably less. This would be entirely insufficient to CLA an LX. Three hours with a knowledgeable and practiced tech with all the appropriate special tools would be about right, I would think this should be about $150 or there about.
Just my guess from having watched a thorough job done. Regards, Bob... -------------------- "Let us contemplate our forefathers, and posterity, and resolve to maintain the rights bequeathed to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. The necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that 'if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.' It is a very serious consideration that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." - Samuel Adams, 1771 From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Can someone tell me a ballpark price > > for fixing a sticky mirror problem > > and/or a CLA on an ME Super? > > Tom, > A guy on ebay was offering $40 CLA's by mail. > Perhaps somebody kept the link to his email. > California - Chula Vista maybe? > Regards, Bob S. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
