Just saw a piece on US television for the pre-game coverage of today's world cup game between South African and Uruguay. Today marks the anniversary of the Soweto Uprising and perhaps the country's most famous photo was taken that day:
http://www.southafrica.info/about/history/hector-pieterson.htm The photographer, Sam Nzima was interviewed in the piece and reenacted taking the photos using his Pentax Spotmatic. Later in the segment he is shown with three cameras on a counter, all Pentax's. It is a powerful photo and its wide spread publication cause world-wide condemnation towards the South African government and Apartheid. All that done with a Pentax. <----------------------------------------------------> Perry Pellechia Home Page: http://homer.chem.sc.edu/perry <----------------------------------------------------> -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
