To those PDMLers who purchased the Zenitar 16/2.8 fisheye:

Out of curiosity, what were your impressions of the
build quality -- in particular, the multicoating on the
front element? Was it perfect or near-perfect?

I just got one of them, allegedly new-in-box, a couple of
days ago, and it seems functional enough. Aperture ring has
nice clicks, and the focus has a good feel. But I couldn't
help noticing little things like the bayonet mount having
ever-so-slightly jagged edges in places where the Pentax
machining is perfect. For the relatively low prices these
lenses go for, a little funkiness doesn't seem abnormal.

The coating on the front element does concern me a bit, however.
It seems to have a couple of pinpoint imperfections and a tiny
straight scratch. Is this typical, in your experience, or did I
get a bad example?

TIA,

Stephen

So am I expecting too much for $129 or should I just get a
Lens Pen or carbon black
