These are beautiful, Mark...
I went in quest of the Burgess Shale in June if 1976 .... staying at the
base of Mt Burgess (essentiall in Field) at the Emerald Lake Lodge...
but a particularly deep snow kept me from geting up to the fossil
site... had to console myself from hiking around Emerald Lake. It was
the first time I had taken on such a lengthy trip alone ( um no the
hike around the lake, the two weeks vacation) I visited Moraine Lake
and Lake Louise, also. Looking now at your photos at Lake Louise and Mt
Burgess... yikes... the paltry remains of the glacier in the hanging
valley at Lake Louise is a sad reminder of the realness of global
warming...
among many lovely photos . I'm very especially fond of this one ,

I should post my lake louise view at some point to emphasise the
difference in the glacier but my hand held photos back then were
decidedly soft.
