IR is something of a crapshoot with an exposure meter - some have mastered metering; I don't try. With a Red 25, if full sun is on the subject I bracket - 60, 125, 250 @ f8. When the sun is less than "strong", I open up or increase shutter speed. I prefer increasing the shutter speed, because every little bit of DOF helps with the focus. (If the light is flat, I don't bother. IR is best on frontlit subjects, IMO.) One of the three is always (well, nearly always) satisfactorily printable. I process HIE as if it were an ISO 200 film. Expect grain and plan to love it. Good luck - you will need it until experience kicks in. Regards, Ed Matthew Indianapolis - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
