I recall some years ago attempting to use a tripod at a zoo. I was nicely told 
that tripods weren't allowed as they tended to interfere with foot traffic. I'm 
sure there were those "photographers" who chose to ignore traffic and set up 
anywhere they d--- chose. I haven't run into many of those type, but their 
memory lingers on.
