I was encouraged by the conclusion that WW came to -- why pour all this money into good 35mm (TF = TinyFormat) when the same money will buy good MF or LF lenses. Yes, the same money.
Want a good portrait lens? $300 - $500. Check your 4x5 & 6x6/6x7/645 prices. Pretty close to the same. Want a good wide angle? $300 - $400 Not much difference. Want the best? 200/2.8? Still not much difference for the equivalent in the bigger formats. Now, I like my Pentax. I have 2 bodies (ZX-M & MX)but only 4 lenses, a set of extension tubes, and a 2x. Suitable for me. The next purchase will work with all formats: Lighting. A single monolight. Already got the stand and umbrella. Now, I realize that not everyone will get into larger formats, despite Aaron's proddings and and guilt-associated manipulations <G>. It's a hobby for most of us, and should be kept as such. It's fun (and a living for some at the same time). My conclusion: Get more glass and film. Have fun. Collin -- ----------------------- "Get over it."
