I've struggled through an English translation of "Simulacra and Simulation"; his ideas are amazing ("the Persian Gulf war did not happen..."). I wonder what kind of person he is day-to-day...
I can see how his philosophical inquiries relate to photography: what happens when we make images that are better than reality? What happens when we appreciate the simulation more than the real? Isn't that the goal of photography? Hmmm...
