I had a weird day at the Thrift Store on Sat. They VERY rarely have any decent camera equipment, and when they do it is often outrageously priced. It seems to depend on who is working (doing the pricing) that day as to whether you get a "deal" or not.( For example, I once found a Sony F717 for $5. It had a CCD problem, but was still under Sony's replacement warranty, so I got a new CCD in it for $20 shipping. It is now my infrared camera.)
Saturday, I found a Canon 50mm f1.8 with 1984 Olympic cap (in mint condition) for $1. Then, in the case where they keep the "good stuff" I found a KR mount Sears 60-300mm f4-5.6. Not sure who made it. 62mm filter and Made in Korea. Would seem to be Samyang, but no one seems to think they made a 60-300mm. It was mint in the original styrofoam/box: $1. Later in the day I came back, just in case something else might have been put out from the same donor, and on the top of the aforementioned glass case was a Mamiya 500 DTL with 55mm f1.8 Mamiya/Sekor lens. The shutter doesn't fire, but that's OK: $1 Sheesh! Proceeds from these should allow me to pay for my ticket to this years ChaserCon: http://chasercon.com/ Yay! -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
