Those folks who were discussing wind-up radios and the like as a 'cure' for digital camera batteries might like a look at the following:

Speaking of which, did anyone ever see the TV documentary series 'Skeleton Coast' (I think) with Benedict Allen in which he trekked alone across the Namib desert? He had a small digital camcorder and he seemed to keep it running for weeks apparently without a mains power source - any idea how he did that? Solar recharger?
