I was trying to find the price history of various Pentax DSLRs, to get some idea of when the K-5 might next drop in price, but while I've seen such charts, I can't find any. Other than "two weeks after I bought mine", anybody have a good idea of what the price curve of Pentax DSLRs looks like?
I have noticed that a sudden price drop often precedes the introduction of a new model, but there do seem to be a few adjustments along the way. We've already seen the first price drop after the "get full retail from the folks that have to have the latest" rush. But the B&H price has been steady at $1465 for a while now. In the process of looking, I stumbled across this site: http://www.radiantlite.com/2010/01/digital-slr-and-compact-camera-price-chart.html I'm not sure who he is, but he seems to be a Canon shooter that likes Pentax. The weird thing is that while I can't see what he uses to base his advice on (much like Mr. Hardness-scale), a lot of his Pentax advice seems to be pretty good: http://www.radiantlite.com/2009/10/recommended-lenses-for-pentax-k7-pentax-k20d.html http://www.radiantlite.com/2009/12/recommended-lenses-for-pentax-k-x-k-m.html even if he likes the D7000 and the 60D better than the K-5: http://www.radiantlite.com/2010/10/best-advanced-dslr-camera-2010.html -- Larry Colen l...@red4est.com sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
