Right. I want honest opinions but I am not certain that I am understanding you fully, Bob. I'll try once more - I don't want to write better, or may be more precise to become a better writer. I want to communicate better. One is not fully equal to another.
Incidentally, I found an interesting piece of possible etymology last week. My boss asked me what the French is for 'grumpy old man' (can't imagine why she was asking me that!). I had to look it up - it is 'vieux grincheux'. I speculate that 'grincheux' is the origin of the word 'grinch'.
