You're right! He must have used stacking. That's unbelievable. Maybe
he left out the tripod part just to simplify the video?

Stacking lenses is my preferred setup too. I don't have a Raynox, but
have used regular 50mm lenses and even the 43 ltd. before various tele
lenses. With a FA or newer tele lens, P-TTL is retained. However I
find that the cameras are fooled by the reduced working distance, so
that some compensation is necessary.
