The boat is a schooner that they anchor in Tempelfjorden each winter and let it freeze in. It is then used for accommodation in an "adventure travel" concept. Guests are picked up in Longyearbyen by dog sled, and are entertained with excursions. The trip to Longyearbyen takes about two hours on a nice day by snowmobile, I think, so it's probably about the double by dog sled.
The last of the three images has a seal resting on the ice between me and the boat. The seals carve breathing holes in the ice from underneath, and come up to rest. That's where the polar bear hunts them, btw.
