There's that, and of course the question of how TX has been "improved". 
It's been a standard for a very long time, and you know how many
photographers resist change, especially when the product they're using
works to their satisfaction.

Around here there have been TX "shortages" in a few stores a couple of
times during the past year.  Imagine going into a photo shop and being
told there's no TX in stock (or, for that matter, whatever your favorite
emulsion is)
