Why stop there?  You need a LearJet to transport it around, too - you're not
going to let the luggage gorillas anywhere near that case.

Personally, I find a Pelican 1600 works just fine.  Mine has
got my $10,000 lens (actually the list price for the 250-600
was a little more than that, although the street price was a
bit lower - I was lucky enough to find a cheap well-used one)
through several airports.
