THe last thing I would have thought I'd like is a photo of a racing car...
(Racin cars aren't really girl things, ya know)

this is nice, though. Were it mine, I'd crop a bit on the right to get the car out of the middle of the frame... especially because the roadway is kinda pointed in that direction... trimmin a bit of the bottom to keep the nice proportions.

Looks very scary. DId you think of this photo after seeing all the Haboob photos? :-)

I've shot a lot of frames of automobiles racing over the last few years.
I don't know if I've shown this one to the group or not, but it's one of
my favorites. Taken at Road Atlanta's Turn 10 during the 2007 Petit le
Mans sportscar race, just before the sun went below the hills.

One of the Panoz Esperante cars had spun out into a gravel trap off to
the right of the shot a few feet. After coming almost to a stop in the
gravel, he pulled it together and surfed over to the pavement, creating
a huge dust cloud. In the photo, he's just regained the pavement and
started accelerating through the dust cloud to continue the race.
Unfortunately, the wind was fairly still, and it took a couple of
minutes before you could see into, much less through, the dust cloud.
Several drivers had some exciting moments going through that cloud.
