Well, seeing as we've strayed from the Artist-on-Artist insults, one of my favourite put downs was by then Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam. While campaigning, Whitlam came under relentless haranguing by one persistent woman repeatedly asking "But what about abortion Mister Whitlam? How do you stand on abortion?" When Whitlam had had enough of this, he turned to the woman and said: "In respect to abortion madam? Well, in your case I'd make it retrospective!"
