My purchase of the Spotmatic back in the 60's was all about its performance.

I had borrowed a Spotmatic from a friend to photograph an F 1 race at Mosport. The camera just felt natural in my hands and the controls felt right. I had never used an SLR till then. It was a major improvement for me from the rangefinders I was using - a Zeiss Ikon Contina and a Voightlander Contessa. With the in-camera lightmeter and the spot on focusing I was immediately won over.
I've had 8 Pentaxes in the last 42 years, mostly trouble free.

Sorry. Weird. I'm amazed any of us bought Pentax cameras back then,
but we did, didn't we?

Didn't have a TV back then ....

If it doesn’t excite you,
This thing that you see,
Why in the world,
Would it excite me?
