Also a nice Manfrotto 3021PRO tripod leg set. (I have a 3021PRO for myself that I recently purchased and I prefer it to the newer model that replaces it). Probably not of interest to this group, but I'll mention it anyway... I also have a Linhof professional heavy duty tripod with 2-way professional pan head. This thing is a ROCK, on reason that it was long sold with Questar telescopes. It is for people interested in stability over weight concerns (long lens shooters, large format shooters, astronomy, etc.) It weighs 28lbs and can handle 45lbs on the head with no problems. I also have a Linhof long-lens support. It is apparently a custom-made piece. It is light-weight and on the topside has a machined piece 1/4" thread for camera that can be placed anywhere along a long slot. At the front end (topside) is a platform with another 1/4" thread to engage the long lens' tripod socket. The platform can be raised approx. 3-1/2" (putting the two tripod sockets at different levels to accommodate the difference between camera body and lens but yet support both. On the bottom side is the disk with tripod sockets (3/8" or 1/4"). A very unusual piece but provides an exceptionally stable platform for long lens and body. Previous owner told me he used it with large format, medium format and 35mm systems.
