i have never noticed one on the casual market; i used to work in prepress shops where the drum scanners were very large machines; i didn't run them, but it seemed to take a lot of practice to become efficient with them; because of that i would probably send out for large-format scans if i needed more than a top flatbed could give me

yes for the SCSI versions (which is probably what you are expecting to find at bargain prices)
