Apart from getting a lot more use out of it, I treat it a lot more gently than I ever did my SRT-101, which is still working perfectly nearly forty years after it was given to the thirteen year old version of myself.
Then again, there's a lot more to go wrong in a K-5 than a late 60's SLR where the only electronics is a light meter.
Hard to imagine other brands of cameras, similar vintage, would have held up any better.
That's possible. Though I can't imagine anything I've done that could cause a power supply board to fail. Or, for that matter, that would cause something in the viewfinder of a K100 to delaminate.
