I'm not sure that the D700 has that much better performance than the D7000, unless you need wider angle. The difference between the D700 and the K-5 is even less. The Nikon pro bodies have an annoying ability to retain high prices, even on the used market. Even so, if I were shopping for a D700, I'd probably wait a month or two until there's a rush of people upgrading to the D800.
