Larry, When I first started using Photoshop in 2005 I took one of my photos with plenty of detail and colours and saved it as a JPEG in all quality settings up to 12. I then pixel-peeped the hell out of them and came to the conclusion that the differences between 10 and 12 were as good as invisible but the file sizes were VERY different. The difference between 8 and 10 was small, but visible to me at 100%. That was the last time (and first) I performed this test and since then have saved JPEGs at quality level 9 or 10, and sleept soundly at night.
