Quoting "P. J. Alling" <webstertwenty...@gmail.com>:

If I had a stable of DA Limiteds or old primes, I'd be pretty
interested (pending price and specs). But all of my lenses are on the
larger size, and I don't have an overwhelming urge to get a smaller
camera body for the DA* 300/4.

Maybe it would interest me for that reason if it had an electronic viewfinder, but it doesn't so it doesn't. As I said before, the lack of eye level viewfinder is purely a money saving measure in this case, and if I need to save that much money, I'd just buy a K-r. This camera while not a major disapointment is not one I'm likely to buy. Now if Pentax had built it along the lines of a NEX-7 with a built in viewfinder, then at least I'd be interested in looking at it.

I'm coming to a similar conclusion.

I was hoping that the K-01 might be a replacement for my K200D. I'll still check it out when it hits the shops but without the viewfinder I'll probably pass.

I simply can't understand why an optional external viewfinder hasn't been made available if the 'designer' didn't want an in-body one.
