I gotta ask, was the replacement battery fully charged?
Charge the original and the replacement and then try this again.
Any K-5 issues I've had were resolved by fully charged batteries.
(Not counting the 6 AA's I used for a while in the battery grip - very
weak energy source.)
(Autofocus with the DA60-250/4 seems to work better with a fresh charge.)
