I would be concerned that the cheap compensation lens definitely degrades
the fine image quality of the nikkor mounted.

Wow! I never knew such a thing existed.

It certainly sounds intriguing. What's the used market like on F-mount 
lenses? Are there lots of them and can any good ones be had relatively 
cheap?
