Hello Wendy, the sigma lens you speak of is an excellent lens. I have read many reviews and I own one myself. There are some people who go as far as to rate it above the pentax and nikon equivalent. Personally, I have taken beautiful photos with this lens and I find it very reasonably priced. You can pick it up for about $626 US at Delta International, I'm not sure what CameraWorld is selling for. That's where I purchased mine. They throw in a 3 year Mack warranty aswell.
