It's not a highly rated lens by all accounts, but I'm not sure any with this versatile a range really are. My satisfaction is merely anecdotal. I haven't compared it critically to anything else. A lot of my shots are foggy/misty mountain shots. That tends to hide a lot of deficiencies. :-)
The first one I had went defective. It was a Pentax-badged Tamron. Pentax discontinued them and Tamron stopped as well. Tamron replaced it with an 18-270 but not in K-mount.
