Well, compared to some I do very little at EHS. Mostly show up to events, schlep stuff around, set up sound systems, make the odd announcement, mind the merchandise booth, take a few pix for their Facebook page, help with set up and tear down.
There are many there for whom volunteering is almost a full time job. I really admire their dedication. In fact the Etobicoke Humane Society (unlike scandal-ridden Toronto Humane Society, with whom we have no affiliation) is 100% volunteer run - no one gets paid a cent to run it. We are a 100% no kill shelter as opposed to, say, Toronto Animal Services, which euthenises 6,000 animals a year. Btw, I heard you bumped into my SO today! Isn't she a sweetheart? Thanks for you comment and thanks to everyone else who took time to look and comment. It's really great of you to volunteer at the Humane Society too. My pets approve! :-) On Tue, Jun 5, 2012 at 10:04 PM, frank theriault <knarftheria...@gmail.com> wrote: > A couple of weekends ago I helped out with a Dog Walkathon in the > neighbouring suburb of Mimico.
