Now that you mention it, yeah, if I had this to do again I'd try to avoid breaking his hand and elbow (I assume you meant elbow).
This guy is kind of a restless player -- constantly moving back and forth, turning, looking up and around. So I was doing a sort of dance with him to keep framing where I like it, somewhat cinematic and close. Doing that and focusing is a trick! :-) And I was pretty close physically to him; a breakthrough of sorts for me as I'm a shy introvert by nature. But I've learned to talk to my intended subjects, become personally involved then invade their space to get the intimate portraits I want. It's a calculated risk, but musicians are hard to disturb as they get into their own zone. I never knew that getting serious about photography means changing your personality. :-) Thanks, Jack.
