It's a DC lens for APS-C digital cameras; it does come in Pentax AF
mount and it appears to be a very good lens.

At least the one I got does.

No. The 55 is a short tele, the 31 is a holdover from the film days, and
isn't what I would consider fast anyway.
A 33mm f/1.4 would be the home run.
