No prefocus. Just let autofocus do it's thing. Didn't look through the viewfinder, though, just held the camera a few inches from the floor, pointed it toward the front of the car and snapped a few. Didn't want to rest it on the floor for fear that vibrations would make things blurrier than they were already.
