Going  back to your original post... what are you doing to check
focus?  I've had cameras lock up on me after several rounds of
continuous shooting.. at a track meet, say... where I am shooting a
lot, and trying to check the previews before everything is done being
written to the card...  I'm impatient, I guess...  But, the camera
will freeze, and I won't be able to do anything until it either
catches up, or I shut it off & on again.  Which is risky & unpleasant,
but... see "impatient", above...
