submissions)

Hi Larry,

Could you please forward the message below to PDML?
My account subscribed to PDML is affected by the outage, so I cannot
post to the list directly.

Thank you,

Igor

Dear PDMLers:

If you haven't heard yet, due to the storm with strong winds, a large
portion of Connecticut is out of power again:
http://www.cl-p.com/outage/OutageMap.aspx
This affected operation of Komkon server where PUG is hosted (and our
all-time sponsor, Frontex/Evogence), making it unavailable
(My personal e-mail hosted on Komkon server is also affected, so I
cannot post to the list.)
We hope to resume normal operations soon after the power is restored.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I realize that it may affect people's
submission for the February PUG. (As a reminder, the theme for February
2013 PUG is "Windows")
Please, have your photos ready for submission for the moment when the
server is back up.

Bill Robb will do the honors of the interim PUG-master for February as
well. (I hope he'll figure out his problems with Thunderbird).

Bill: suggestions for Thunderbird+Gmail:
1) Use IMAP (not POP3),
2) Under "Synchronization & Storage", consider unchecking "Keep messages
for this account on this computer". This way you would avoid downloading
all messages from Gmail at once, but rather, Thunder bird will only
download the message headers. After that, when you need to read the
message, and click on it in the message list, Thunderbird download just
that message.
