Quite the harrowing experience! Glad you survived intact.

A $25 gift certificate from the cafeteria seems like minimal compensation for 
your ordeal. Is the food at least good there?

So, in a nut*shell* your local PD tends to err on the safe side... The 
question is - do they ever err on the unsafe side???
