Yep, a great bargain. But do note I picked up a brand new K-5 with the
DA 18-135 WR for CAD 979.99 + Tax shipped, from Henry's Toronto.
The shutter count was (1) from the first photo. And from the
Ricoh-Pentax packaging, I could make out it was a brand new Kit - lens
and camera in one big un-opened box.
Now what Amazon, Adorama and others sometimes do is ship Customer
returns, open box items or demos.
This is not to say that they don't sell brand new, but just that you
may not be the lucky one.
I was one - and from whom? The mighty B&H. They sold me a K-20D in
April 21, 2009 with a shutter count of (625). The camera manufacturing
date was April 15, 2008 - one year from the date of sale. Lucky for me
the K-20D turned out to be a work horse - great night shots even at
ISO 1600.
I came to know this much later when the Pentax Forum put up a web site
to check the mfg date and shutter count.
Regards. Bipin.
