I understand your disappointment, Bob. I was on the grass over the beach waiting to photograph yet another Maui Sunset (a daily ritual on the Valley Isle). I noticed this person ignoring the setting sun,and ignoring the sunset watchers. At first, I could not tell whether the reader was a man or woman, because of the attire and the hat. That was one of the things that drew my attention. When some noisy children ran by, the reader looked up, and I could see he was a man.
Look, even in Maui, not everyone is buff and sexy. They even permit old dudes like me on the beach, provided we wear board shorts instead of Speedos. <G> I intended this as a slice of life image, in my beach photography series. This year, iPads and Kindles far outnumbered books of real paper, making him even more of an outlier, and an individual. I'll try to find more images of pretty young women for future postings.
