Heh!..

The trend of the last 5-7 years (at least in the US) is to stretch
4:3 TV programs to the widescreen 16:9 TV sets.
It's done at the bars, airports, hotels (and fixed, so that you cannot
change it back to how it should be.

I think thee is a conspiracy out there: if you see all people
(news anchors, talk show hosts, etc.) much fatter then they are,
people don't feel as bad about themselves being overweight.
It is an antidote to seeing Barbies everywhere around.
