One of us PDMLers mentioned here to do the following after removing
the battery:-
a) Wait (2) mins, then w/o the battery ON the camera, Press a few buttons.
b) Change to a new SDHC Card which has been formatted in the camera.
c) Put a different lens, after cleaning the lens & body contacts.
d) Install a freshly charged battery and then test the camera. Make sure the
chrome plated battery terminals are cleaned with a Q-tip dipped in pure
alcohol and then polished off with a soft cloth.
e) Re-apply the firmware if in doubt. Always use the latest firmware, and don't
be afraid to apply it. Pentax-Ricoh are known to cram improvements w/o
disclosing every thing.
I think these steps ensure the motherboard is neutralized of all
electrical charges
and that all contacts are firm + others.
