The modifiers are much softer than lenses, you could curl up with them? Get a sandbag though, I don't travel as far as I used to (I am sometimes Bruce direction-taking sandbag)

The one downside would be adjusting the light inside. They look like they might give a more directional light than a conventional umbrella.
