Nice shot, Dave. The red dragonflies are pretty scarce this year around
here... I can't tell for sure what this is - there are several species
that share the red body with black zig-zag markings rising from the
underside. The legs are black so it is not an Autumn Meadowhawk
(formerly called a yellow legged meadowhawk.) It is probably a cherry
faced or ruby meadowhawk, might be a whte faced meadowhawk. Hopefully it
will come back!
